Frequently Asked Questions

We require dogs to be fully vaccinated with the Distemper and Rabies vaccinations. Bordetella is recommended for puppies and seniors.

Puppies must be at least 16-weeks-old and vaccinated to participate in our daycare or lodging programs. We offer an Exposures for Puppies program for puppies 12-16 weeks old.

Dogs over nine-months-old need to be spayed/neutered to participate at RAPC. This is for the safety of the unfixed dog, as well as the current pack.

RAPC is set up for family dogs whose owners want to enrich their dog’s life. Dogs must enjoy being in small packs of dogs and being around children.

Different breeds have different drives and needs. RAPC is not suitable for Chow Chows, Wolf Hybrids, Cattle Dogs, Mastiffs, Heelers, Cane Corsos, and Rottweilers.

To register your dog for daycare or lodging, please provide RAPC with your first and last name, phone number, and email. RAPC uses the “Time to Pet” program for client registration and records, scheduling, invoicing, messaging, and pupdates. Our clients find it easiest to download the free app, after registration, for easiest access to the client portal.

All dogs must complete a Meet & Greet before joining our Pack. Meet & Greets are hosted complimentary at RAPC and last around 20-minutes. Our families get a chance to meet and ask questions. If a dog will be joining our daycare program, they begin with an Orientation Day so we can ensure to place each dog in a pack they will thrive in.

RAPC has 4 different mealtimes. For dogs that are “free-feeders” at home or picky eaters when their family is away, we will offer their last meal’s leftovers during the next mealtime. Dogs will only be offered their own food, provided by their family. All dogs are fed separately, with a human present. Rest time always follows mealtime to allow the dogs to digest their meal before having activity. RAPC has puzzle feeders, raised dishes, snufflemats, you name it! We have several communal water bowls, cleaned throughout the day. Each dog is also given a private water bowl, refreshed throughout the day, in their enclosure.

All medications and supplements should be provided to RAPC inside the original packaging. We are trained to administer monthly medications, as-needed medications, daily medications/supplements, and insulin injections for diabetic dogs.

In case of emergency or safety requirement, dog guests must be comfortable resting in a crate or kennel. RAPC uses kennels to ensure adequate rest, private water breaks, and safety precautions when not supervised.

We use various tools when working with our Pack. We always discuss the use of a new tool with the dog’s owner before introducing the tool to the dog.

Pack members are welcome to bring a toy or two with. RAPC cannot guarantee the toy will be returned or given back in the same condition. We are well stocked in a number of different toys for our dog friends to enjoy with us!

RAPC takes the Pack on adventures to local parks and trails in the South Metro. We visit pet friendly establishments, like Home Depot. Each dog is seat-belted in for the car rides. We do NOT attend dog parks.

Walking and hiking are great outlets RAPC uses to exercise the Pack. We are mindful of the temperature and hot surfaces. We opt for “earth” walks for our Pack so it’s easier on their joints and paw pads. All activity is adjusted according to the individual dog, their age, their energy, and their interest.

In case of a veterinary emergency, we will do everything we can to reach the dog’s owner. If the owner cannot be reached, we will treat each dog as our own and assume veterinary intervention.

Although rare, it is possible for a Pack member to be suspended or expelled from RAPC’s programs. We believe all dogs are great dogs! Due to certain behaviors, drives or playstyles, a different daycare or boarding program may be a better fit. If RAPC isn’t the best fit for your dog, we provide alternative recommendations.
